"The Castle of Happy Returns"
During my internship at the Lightner Museum I learned about the museums history and the role of a communications professional in a non-profit arts setting. I started off shadowing my intern supervisor/Communications Coordinator Jennifer and soon after I had adapted my own place within the museum and have still maintained a significant presence as a communication intern.

I have participated in Lightner Museum staff meetings, learned about basic exhibit details, hours of operation, marketing, funding, volunteering, a bit about the museum store, events and much more. All of this has helped me provide a better outlook of what it takes to run a museum. With all these things said and done, I have really felt like a part of the team and as if I have a strong voice within the museum. I am currently working on continuing to expand the museums social media outlets by creating a wedding and events platform as well as working on new blog posts to engage new audience members.
